Publishing and domains
Share a digital business card and QR code
Every portfolio has a card page with a QR code and a downloadable vCard, which is what you actually want at a conference.
step 1
Find your card
Your card lives at /card/ followed by your workspace slug. It is a stripped-back page built for a phone screen held at arm length, not a full portfolio.
- Open it on a phone before you rely on it.
- Check that your headline reads well out of context.
step 2
Use the QR code and the vCard
The card page offers a QR code that resolves to it, and a vCard download that drops your details straight into a phone contacts app. The QR is the one to put on a slide or a printed card; the vCard is the one to send after you have met.
- Put the QR on your last slide, not your first.
- Test the vCard on both an iPhone and an Android device.
step 3
Point it at a domain you keep
The card is only as durable as the URL on it. On the Free plan that URL sits on a Folio subdomain, which is fine to hand out but ties the card to us. Attaching your own domain on a paid plan means the QR you printed keeps working even if you leave.
- Attach your domain before you print anything physical.
- Reprint if the URL changes. A dead QR is worse than no QR.
