Turn on the contact form and work the lead inbox
Let people reach you from your public site, keep the messages out of spam, and see which ones are worth answering first.
step 1
Enable the form
The public contact form is off until you switch it on in settings. Once enabled it appears on your public contact page and writes straight into your lead inbox.
- Turn on the public contact form in settings.
- Set the contact email that notifications go to.
- Send yourself a test message and confirm it arrives.
step 2
Let the spam defence do its job
Every public submission has to clear a proof-of-work challenge before it is accepted, and the endpoint is rate limited. This stops the bulk of automated form spam without making a real person solve a puzzle.
- Do not disable the challenge to make testing easier.
- Mark anything that slips through as spam so the inbox stays clean.
step 3
Triage what arrives
Leads land with a status of new, read, replied, archived, or spam, and are ordered so the ones that look like real work sit at the top. You can also fire every new lead at a Slack, Discord, or generic webhook if you would rather be interrupted.
- Reply to hot leads the same day. That is most of the advantage.
- Archive rather than delete, so the history stays intact.
- Point a webhook at the channel you actually read.
